Somewhere East is a photographic book born from an analog journey across the Middle East, India, Thailand, Sri Lanka,
and Indonesia. Shot entirely on film, the project explores travel as a sensory, layered experience—less a geographic record,
more a visual drift built through time, distance, and presence.
Moving between street scenes, quiet moments, and passing landscapes, the images form an intimate archive of encounters
and atmospheres. Film becomes both a constraint and a language, slowing the process down and reinforcing a more physical, attentive relationship with what’s being photographed.
Conceived as a cohesive narrative object,the book brings together sequencing, rhythm, and materiality to shape an open-ended story that sits between documentation and personal perception—where “East” becomes a direction, not a destination.
